We’ve long been enamored with Fullpower Technologies. We’ve covered it many times, but their combination of IP and know how around wearables is truly impressive and accumulating more importance every day. Today, the Company announced the issuance of another important piece of their IP portfolio–a patent for Wearable Technology, Sensor Fusion and Motion Processors. The patent, one of many that the Company has been issued covers “a method of using a motion sensor and a location-based sensor together to perform sensor fusion, enabling activity identification.” This patent supplements the Fullpower patent portfolio for the MotionX X24 Sensor-Fusion processor technology, which includes patents such as US Patents 8,187,182, 7,647,195, 7,970,586, and 8,320,578 among others.
“As inventors and innovators we believe in the US patent system to protect our inventions such as the MotionX X24 Sensor-Fusion processor,” said Philippe Kahn, founder and CEO of Fullpower. “The MotionX X24 Technology Platform leads the wearable paradigm shift with a broad IP portfolio and the best algorithm for sleep, activity and location tracking.”
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist, though I’m sure Fullpower has some on staff, to believe that there are more than a few companies that find this IP valuable. And that, combined with their ability to deliver software/firmware solutions that are leaps ahead of the competition in their motion accuracy, power management, and ability to deliver their IP to multiple form factors, is one reason this company is so well positioned in the wearables space.
